Registration

International and IONA registration are now both full, and so we are now operating a waiting list. To be entered into the waiting list, please go to the registration site here and order a "reserve list place".

The registration is, as it was last year, conducted through an online system. International registration opened on August 1st 2008 and IONA registration opened on September 1st 2008. There will be a late payment fee strictly enforced upon those who pay after the payment deadline of October 15th. This is in order that we can accurately provide the best accommodation and adjudication.

There will be an institution cap of 3 teams per institution.

PLEASE NOTE

As was the case last year, we will be following the below guidelines with regards to multiple societies affiliated to the same institution:

Institutions may only register one society at the competition unless those societies have competed independently at the world championships in the last three years.

This means that the following list of institutions may register multiple societies:
University College Cork (UCC Phil AND UCC Law)
University College Dublin (UCD L&H AND UCD Law)
Trinity College Dublin (TCD Hist AND TCD Phil)
Galway (Galway Lit&Deb AND Galway Law)

Everyone else can only register one society.
We hope that seems reasonable; if anyone has any enquiries about this or wants to throw abuse, please don't hesitate to get in touch with Max or Neil. Preferably Max.

Queries

Registration System

The Oxford IV 2008 uses an eCommerce environment similar to Amazon or other online shops. Someone from your institution first needs to register an account with the system; they will then be our primary contact for your institution. Please note: if you registered an account before the 31st of July 2008, you will need to register that account again. That person can then add up to 3 domestic or international registration packages (or a mix of the two) and the n-1 required number of judges (for IONA package teams) to their shopping basket and proceed to the checkout where they will enter the additional information we require and choose a payment method.

The registration procedure will ask for a number of details, so please have the following ready:

Your name and email address, the name of your institution, the number of teams you wish to register (up to 3), whether you require international or domestic registration, how many nights you require crash for (up to 3 if you are on the International Package or up to 2 if you are on the IONA package) and the names of your team members and judges (these can be added later if neccessary).

Once you have registered you will receive an email confirming that the registration has been processed and once you have paid you will receive an invoice from The Oxford Union. Please note that no registration can be confirmed until you have paid in full.
